Busta Rhymes ft Janet Jackson – “Whats it Gonna be”

In 1999, this was the video of the future. It was SOOOO FUTURISTIC. ZOMG. I remember watching this thinking that this is what the world will look like ten years from now. They’re liquid people…like ALEX MACK. OR THE PREDATOR. But nothing beats Janet Jackson’s fingernail piercings. I had a fingernail piercing before this video was ever made. She’s jacking MY style, duhhhh.

Cher – “Believe”

Cher. You, like Sinbad, have no last name. (Why do I think of Sinbad before Madonna? I’m insane.) Having a single name demands a certain level of maintained epic-ness. And yeah, you held up your side of the deal. Not only did you mainstream the use of a vocoder into pop music, but you managed to PRAY in the middle of a night club. I don’t know about you, but that takes some serious serenity. That chick sure is zen. She “believes,” therefore I believe. I believe in the power of Cher. The next time I’m inside a glass box in the middle of a night club dressed like Jesus from space I’ll be sure to pray. Thanks for the inspriation, Cher.

Tyrese – “Sweet Lady”

Tyrese Gibson, the master of the actor/singer/dancer/model routine. Sometimes I just want to tell these people to pick one and stick to it, but hey, if I could I would be an actor/singer/model/dancer/astronaut/dentist with commentary on I love the 90′s. His 1999 ballad touched the hearts of so many young women,  he worked so may great music video cliches. But I’d have to say, the singing in the rain one is my favorite.

He’s so deep, for real.

He’s so seductive. I’d let him seduce me, but only if I were wearing leather capris like this girl.

Really, theres nothing better than Mya inside a larger than life crib dancing around letter blocks.

Jordan Knight – “Give it To You”

Oh Jordan, no words. Not only is this my favorite song to dance to at the moment, but oh, the best take on the grease sandy transformation I’ve seen in a long time.

AH, the OUTFITS, THE HAIR. EVERYTHING. NO WORDS, but BRILLIANT.

Len – “Steal My Sunshine”

UGH, I wanna be part of your orange, VICE, scooter  gang. Dang, you guys are soooooo hard (as made evident by the wifebeaters and sideways hats, crop tops, duh).  Gosh, you guys sure know how to have fun on the 2 mile radius from venice beach to the santa monica pier.

JEEZ, YOU GUYS SURE ARE HAPPY. dang, I wish I were that happy.

702 – “Where My Girls At?”

Three Girls, great hair, pleather body suits, a furry cowboy hat and chokers. I think I saw them perform before a WNBA Sparks game with my elementary school PE class. Ugh, I need a choker, now. Preferably one of those ones that looks like a tattoo.

Now we know where Lady Gaga got her costume, OBVI.
